The 2020 Lampasas County Youth Livestock Show kicks off Thursday January 9th and ends with the Premium Sale on Saturday January 11th.
Families and any Visitors are encouraged to stop by the showbarn watch the shows, browse exhibits, and enjoy food from the concession stand.

2020 Lampasas County Show Schedule
Saturday, January 4
9:00 a.m. – Showbarn preparation/clean-up (all exhibitors required to participate)
Wednesday, January 8
Ag Mechanics move in (projects must be in place and completed by 7:00 p.m.)
Thursday, January 9
Animals may begin arriving to the barn at 8:00 a.m.
6:00 a.m. – Rabbit check-in. Show to immediately follow check-in. (Show Ring)
4-Class Division followed by 6-Class Division
Grand & Reserve Champion Breeding Rabbit
PeeWee Showmanship
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Food Fair check-in (to follow the conclusion of the rabbit show, but not before 12 p.m.)
1:00 p.m. – Food Fair judging begins (starting with PeeWee, Junior, then Senior)
4:00-6:00 p.m. – Swine weigh-in/check-in
5:00 p.m. – Food Fair Awards (Show Ring)
5:00 – 6:30 p.m. – Market lambs begin to weigh and classify followed by market goats. Breeding goat weigh-in to follow market goats.
6:00 p.m. – Swine check-in closed
6:00 p.m. – Exhibitor Meeting (Show Ring)
7:00 p.m. – Broiler check-in starts with show to follow (Show Ring)
Pullet show followed by cockerel show
7:00 p.m. – All animals, except cattle must be in place. Tack for all cattle exhibitors must be in place.
Friday, January 10
8:00 a.m. – Ag Mechanics show begins
9:00 a.m. – Swine show begins
Breeding Show
Market Show: Hampshire, Duroc, OPB, Dark Crosses, All Other Crosses
Swine Showmanship – Junior, Intermediate, then Senior

Ag Mechanics Awards – announced at 12:00 p.m. (Show Ring)
12:00 p.m. – All cattle must be in place
Market Lamb show: will begin after the completion of the swine show BUT not before 1:00 p.m.
Market lambs in breed order - Southdown, Fine Wool, Fine Wool Cross, Medium Wool, Hair Sheep
Market lamb showmanship – Junior, Intermediate,then Senior

Goat show: will start after the completion of the lamb show.
Breeding goat show, followed by breeding goat showmanship (junior, intermediate, senior).
Market goat show, followed by market goat showmanship (junior, intermediate, senior).
Pee Wee Showmanship – Lamb & Goat together
Klose Sportsmanship Award
****At the conclusion of the goat show: ALL tables, equipment, and tack must be cleared out of the sheep and goat aisles in order to prepare for the cattle show.
6:00 p.m. – Steers begin to weigh and classify.
Heifer registration papers will be checked following the steers.
Saturday, January 11
8:00 a.m.
Heifers – show begins in breed order: American, British, Exotic (calves then yearlings)
Steers to follow the heifers – shown in the above breed order - lightweight shows first
Beef Cattle Showmanship – Junior, Intermediate, then Senior

Pre-Junior Mini Hereford Heifer Show (immediately following showmanship and special awards)
3:30 p.m. – Exhibitors report to showbarn kitchen area for Buyers Dinner - to eat then serve
– ALL exhibitors (6th grade and older) are asked to report at 3:30 p.m. in a white shirt to help serve at the Buyers Dinner.
5:00 p.m. – Buyers Appreciation Dinner
6:30 p.m. – Premium Sale
*****Pictures of Sale Animals – immediately following the last class the exhibitor shows in and the sale animal is confirmed.
Sunday, January 12
8:00 a.m. – All animals and projects must be out of the barn
9:00 a.m. – Clean-up of show barn (all exhibitors required to participate and sign in with their advisors)
